MidLife Crisis

Updated: Dec 25, 2025

Midlife crisis al most felt like a myth growing up.

It seemed to be more men who lived through it.

We women, being the very responsible beings that we are, we tend to possibly hide it better?

Have you lost sense of who you are?  Have been pouring into others for far too long and no longer know who this body is.  What she wants.  What she needs.  What she desires.

I see you!

Mine came at 40 on the DOT!

Do you 40 people out there fell like everything is better as you get older?! Or are you scared of aging?

To me, 40 felt right. 40 felt like bigger and better things were on the way.  I had lived my 3 operations, chronic illness for several years, my relationship was getting back on track, my daughters had finally settled into their right schools and friends...  I could finally focus on myself, my relationship and my growth.

I was embracing the best version of myself. The version I had lost for so many years.  My head felt lighter and my heart fuller.

It takes you by surprise.  You just want to do things you haven’t done before.  You want to live a thrill, becasue you’ve been in your own version of a cage for many years.  You’ve put others ahead of you for many years.

It’s that time when you take no more bullshit and you set boundaries, you put yourself first and give yourself permission to lay back  / have fun, a little more.

The realization of what I've done, seen and been through, all my life, is the culmination of the best version of myself, everyday, every step of the way and for the rest of my life. Seeing the glass half full is a choice, but an easier one to make. To see and enjoy brighter days. The raising and upbringing of a bastard child, into a flourishing flower. This ever evolving being, that is the human being.

What does is mean to be choosing ourself again? What does it mean to be in a midlife crisis?

It means possibility and adventure. It can also mean growth and simplicity. Finding the beauty in simple things around us, in people walking by, diversity, a simple kiss, a couple holding hands, a butterfly swirling around in the grass or the sun making its mark on your body by simply existing.

It mostly means that you are no longer bothered by what other say and think about you. You are happy to be you in your best glory.

Life can be as simple as that. It’s choosing to see the glass half full or half empty.

That first part of your life is growth and experience.  Now it’s time to create that second part of your life, for yourself.  It only depends what you do with it.  What you choose for yourself.

Feel uplifted to see yourself grow the wings to grow even more or see yourself be drowned by the heaviness of your sorrows. Which road will you take? Which road will write the next chapter of your life.

I choose to take the road to be simply happy. To see the beauty in the small things. To feel all my emotions but also be true to myself. Not let anyone else define who I really am. Not overtaking things. Just BE!

Be like the Lotus Flower and grow in the mud.  Rise and shine like it’s beauty.

Let yourself grow and not be stopped by the surrounding noise.

What matters is you and only you.

What do you want for this next chapter of your life?
