Perspective... What is perspective?
In a previous article we talked about how Time Heals.
Time gives Perspective. Perspective is a different way to see a problem, at a different time of our life. Perspective is gaining experience on a subject that we had less beforehand, therefore we are now able to have a broader range of notions in order to form an opinion on a subject.
When you take time to think on a problem and give yourself the space to gain more information on a subject, you immediately separate a situation from the emotions attached to it. You are then able to make a more enlightened decision on that said subject and gain perspective on the matter.
When you gain perspective on a subject, you see the other side of the medal... Someone else's point of view... You analyze it from different angles. You can gain compassion and kinder feelings towards the said subject.
You can also reflect on the matter and see how you could have approached things differently and take accountability for your own actions, in order to grow and learn from the said subject. Life is a constant learning experience. Perspective has a large role to play in our learning experience.
Gaining perspective is never bad and usually beneficial in a decision making process.
What can you lose from perspective? Maybe time... but you gain a strongly positioned point of view. You are able to then make the best decision for yourself, based on your knowledge and personal boundaries and needs.
Gain your perspective.
REFLECTIONS:
How do you gain perspective?
Do you take the time to reflect on your side of things?
Are you able to be accountable for your words and actions?
Do you take time to listen to others, before taking a decision?
