It was at the age of 24 that I officially came home, from my travels and that I needed to come back and set some roots for myself. I was with my english boyfriend I had met in Thailand. We decided that Canada was where the heart was going to be.
The life you're supposed to have and build. Mine was unconventional, I hadn't gone to "school", but I went through the School of life to find myself and what I loved.
I had barely done college... I couldn't stand the school system and sitting in a classroom for hours, unless I had some projects I could get involved in. What was I going to do? I felt hopeless, but inspired...
Coming back home, I then got a job and took a course on how to start my own company. We bought our first home and investment property together. We were starting "life", the modern world type of life.
Roxy , our dog, came into our life. A beautiful rescue from the SPCA. She had been found on her own, emaciated, alone, with no collar. She was sick and nervous. We took her in as a foster family and she became our girl very quickly and we adopted her.
Our new home was also our baby... We gave her TLC (Tender love and care). Did some renovations and made a little nest for ourselves. We lived there for 3 years, before we knew we needed more space, because of the bundle of joy, that was going to join our family.
A home is what you make of it. A life is how you want to create it. The time and love you put into making it feel like what you desire.
Its not always what others think it should be, but its what you are happy to make it. Even Starting from very little or a lot.
